This edition of Library Leaves is brought to you by the words ‘Renovation’ and ‘Jaguar’ and the number 24.

Thanks so much for the great movie suggestions. To my regular correspondent, yes the Godfather movies and Casablanca are brilliant. Other Bogart movies I really rate are Beat the Devil and Sierra Madre. No they don’t make them like that anymore but there are some excellent modern ones too.

Great news on Wingham Library. We’re close to signing up a builder. The project will take us through to June and there will be some close time, but you have to expect that with such a major and fantastic renovation.

I’m planning to go to an exhibition at the Manning Art Gallery featuring cats. Whilst I’m no fan of feral cats I reckon genuine wild cats are awesome. If I could be any animal, it would be a Jaguar. What’s your animal of choice?

The 24-hr news cycle (which curiously grew out of the Gulf War) needs stories and there’s nothing like fear and bad news to fill that need. I’m amazed at how negative we’ve become as a society. BUT there is plenty of good news out there, it just doesn’t make the headlines. I subscribe to Future Crunch, thanks to my son.

It’s totally free and if you want the full picture and to get some balance I urge you to do the same (librarians love people to be informed): Try it out here.

And just because I found this amusing and facinating: Check this out!

French phrase: ‘Louis, je pense que c'est le début d'une belle amitié.’

English translate: "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Or ... let’s just all get along

Bada boom
